Hacer Past Participle and Hacer Present Perfect Tense

Normally, the past participle is formed by using the stem of the verb and adding ‘-ado’ for those verbs ending in -ar and ‘-ido’ for those that end in -er or -ir. However, some verbs are irregular and hacer past participle is one such example. The past participle for hacer is ‘Hecho’, this is important to know as the past participle is used in all the perfect tenses, both indicative and subjunctive.

The most commonly used of the perfect tenses is the present perfect. Hacer present perfect uses the present tense of the irregular verb ‘haber’, meaning to have, as the prefix followed by hacer past participle and this is shown in the table below.
